Discovering The Legacy of Nujabes

Today's episode features a Japanese Music Producer, Founder of Hydeout Productions, DJ, composer, arranger, crossing into different genres like jazz rap, down tempo, atmospheric instrumental. His collaboration with the highly regarded Samurai Champloo OST in 2004 pushed his name to the stratosphere. He was a quiet Hip Hop ambassador known to his close people as Seba Jun but known to the world as Nujabes. 

As an introvert, his life revolved around music. His ability to listen, reconstruct samples and direct musicians to make what most Nujabes stans would call "classic music" and I agree. He was a crate diggers owning record stores around Japan and into the musical influences of the 1980s and 1990s. He worked with incredible emcees like Funky DL, Sustantial, Shing02, Cise Star, Pase Rock, Fat Jon, and many more to include instrumentalist like Uyama Hiroto.

And in most parts, his music was about releasing feelings as well. I discovered his music years ago and had the privilege to see his impact first had in the land of the rising sun Tokyo Japan.
